Standard Sizing
We’re very happy to announce that the Men’s Standard Sizing project is now complete. We gathered slider information from almost 200 male avatars and we feel that we’ve created a good selection of shapes based on these figures. Of course, some shapes might appear to be too small or too big to some residents, but we should try to remember that we are trying to represent the entire SL community with these shapes, not just a small cross section that we associate with on blogs, Flickr or Plurk. We are also very conscious that by trying to represent all SL male avatars with these five shapes, there will inevitably be some individuals that get stuck between sizes. For this we apologise, the system is not perfect… but it is better than no sizing at all. Please consider this and view these shapes as a starting point for more advancement and improvement rather than focusing on the negatives or what they are lacking.
If you are a creator, you can visit the SL Marketplace listing or directly download the Standard Size package (including female shapes) right here: Standard Size Package. This package contains 3D files in a variety of formats that you can use to help size your items in your favourite 3D software.
If you are a shopper… watch out… we will be releasing a lot of Standard Sized clothing for male and female avatars within the next few days!
